Learning Tips

Equipment Tip by Sharon Mulligan

Replace laces with the proper size. For a few dollars, this will replenish support. If you are using laces that are too long, you tend not to tighten them.

Proper size is essential, as well as lacing the boots all the way up to the top.

Stroking Tips by Sharon Mulligan

Before you begin your stroking, it's imperative to keep in mind the 3 P's:

Pause — Present — Power

Pause for a moment and take a deep breath. This will relax your muscles.

Next, Present your arms. The stretch of your arms will assist you in creating a strong body line.

Last but certainly not least, the Power. When using full extension, deep knee bend, and strong edges, these key elements will provide you with the power you need to obtain when stroking.
